Derek B. “New Service for finding drink prices”
29. September 2011 by student.
I was reading the newspaper the other day, and there was an article about a new website that enables a person to search for alchohol prices and specials. The service is designed to target people 21-35. EBevSeeker.com was “quietly” started in May, and now includes over 1,500 locations in Lee County alone. A person can set up their cell phone or facebook to recieve notifications from the website, and you can even specify which types of beer you like or what atmosphere you like to drink in. One will recieve notifications for their specific criteria. The article raves about how great of a service it is, and I agree. What I’m not sure on is where the local authorities stand on this topic. As I said before, the article stated the website was started up “quietly”, which seems a little cautionary on the founders behalf. The website clearly promotes drinking, which could lead to more arrests and more drinking and driving. Both are seriouse issues, and I am definitely awaiting to see how this website develops and who may stand in to object, if any.
