Foreigners wanting to become a U.S. citizen must have held a green card for five years before they are eligible to apply for citizenship, which costs $595 plus the fingerprinting fee.

Nick Hamilton… Illegal Immigration and Why it Should be Stopped…

Illegal immigration is an ongoing major problem in the United States. Although the majority of offenders come from countries to our south such as Mexico, Guatemala and other central and south american places, they also come from Europe, Asia, and Africa. The immigrants leave their homelands in an attempt to lead a better life in our nation of opportunity. But this in turn is hurting us and our economy. With these illegal immigrants comes not only the fact that they take jobs from many other American citizens, but they also bring their crime with them. Not saying all illegal aliens are criminals, but it is a fact that illegal aliens commit the majority of rape cases in the U.S. for instance and that over 60% of the U.S.’s prison population are made up of illegal immigrants. Since they are here without the governments knowing, they pay no taxes and also usually get paid below minimum wage for many of the jobs they work. This in turn means they cannot support their families and then receive welfare from our country. This comes out of the tax paying citizen’s pockets and is completely unfair to the rest of the population.  I think our borders need to be enforced heavier than they are now and I just dont see the reason why they cant enter our country legally, if that was the case we wouldn’t be having some of the problems we are having now. They could even help build our economy back up instead of riding the system and draining the Fed’s money supplies.

With Obamas healthcare bill you will loose the freedoms that come in purchasing health insurance. A close reading of the two main bills reveal a web of restrictions, fines, and mandates that would radically change your health-care coverage.

1. Freedom to choose what’s in your plan

2. Freedom to be rewarded for healthy living, or pay your real costs

3. Freedom to choose high-deductible coverage

4. Freedom to keep your existing plan

5. Freedom to choose your doctors

Would you purchase health insurance with these restrictions?

Ludenie remy (Edison) Egoistic and altruistic Suicide

sinceaccordingto Durkheim, suicide cannot be explain by its individual forms, and since for him the suicide rate is a distinct phenomenon in its own right, he proceedfs to relate currents of suicide to social concomitants which for Durkheim will serve to place individual suicide in its proper aetiological setting. Egoistic suicide results from lackof integration of an individual into society. According to Durkheim, egoistic suicide can also occurs where there is slight integration of an individual into family life. the greater the density of the family, the greater the immunity of individuals to suicide.

Altruistic suicide occurs where the individual’s life is tremendously governed by custom and habit. it results from the individual’s taking his own life because of higher commendments and expectations. Egoistic and altruistic suicide may be considered to be symptomatic of the way in which the individual is structured into the society.

Ludenie Remy (Edison) Pro-choice or pro-life, what is it going to be?

Everyone knows that killing is a bad thing, buy when it comes to abortion people have different views. Those who are for abortion are pro-choice. Pro-choice cares about the rights of the mother they believe that women should have a choice of whether they like to keep the baby and give birth to it or have an abortion. Those who are against abortion are pro-life. Pro-life cares about the rights of the unborn baby. They believe that abortions are not necessary and that its murder and you should not do it. Pro-choice or pro-life, the central question in the abortion debate is does abortion take a human life? According to an abortionist from Boston, abortion does take away human life. Medical Science proves that a fetus is a human being. A fetus is a developing human with a heartbeat. Although life begins after conception the pro-choicers believe that a fetus can’t defend itself, so it’s up to the mother whether to abort the child or continue with the nine months process.

We all know that it’s a personal decision; but according to Emile Durkheim, individual choices have social influences. When it comes to life do you really have a choice? Life is God’s giving gift so no one should take it away. Personally I am against abortion. Since life begins after conception I believe abortion it’s taking away human life. In addition, abortion can produce many serious medical problems. For example it increases the risk of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, breast cancer, future miscarriages, and placenta previa. Pro-choicers are saying that is the mother’s decision; I agree on that, but I don’t think it’s up to you anymore consider that you have someone else living inside of you. I think that women should have abortions only when it comes to medical problems. Some of them just don’t want to bear the fact that they will be gaining a couple pounds. For those who demand control over their body, first thing to control should include preventing the risk of unwanted pregnancy through the use of contraception or through abstinence. Not giving the chance of living to an innocent creature just because you were not ready is not an excuse. Those who choose abortions are often minors or young women with not much understand to what they are doing. Many have lifelong regrets afterwards.                Personally this issue will never get solved because people are going to have unprotected sex and you are going to have those unfortunate females that don’t want babies, and when it happens their only choice is abortion. The whole choice of aborting should be efface, make it a law that people cannot abort unless it’s medically related, but still that would not solve the issue, our best choice is to let people do what they want with their life. It’s a hard decision when it comes to keeping a baby, sometimes it can be tremendously difficult than people may think. But women need to think twice and think good before making that decision. Remember if your mother decided to have an abortion you would not be there. So think about it, it’s life, and it’s precious.

Ludenie Remy (Edison); An economic obstacle for college students

A struggling
US economy systematically affects everyone from the family, work, and a major section, college students. During times when the economy was at high ends the American dream was to finish high school and go off to college, but according to
New York Times article about Reed College, After piecing together their ideal freshman class, the college in Oregon was forced to deny admittance to more than 100 financially-needy students and replace them with students who could afford the tuition. Money has gradually become vital to advance in society. Is the American dream becoming impossible for the lower and middle class American? And if it is, what steps can be taken to assure a promising future? Well for right now one thing is for sure YOU GOT TO HAVE MONEY TO MAKE MONEY!
