MIMI ( EDISON ): CHILDREN GETTING REWARED FOR GOOD GRADES.

Nothings wrong for rewarding your child for good grades or even punishing them for bad ones, depending on how is done.  I wasn’t rewarded for the good grades I got in school nor chores that had to be done at home.  I believe praising your child for their hard work in keeping the good grades is a positive reinforcement and that might be good enough for your child to continue doing good in school. Good grades are a reward in itself. Although, I do believe if their is going to be any reward given it should maybe be on a quarterly basis. This would allow time for those children that are struggling to prove their grades and also be able to get rewarded for their grade improvement. I was reading an article Brains are Fun and it was saying “both rewards and punishment are ineffective”.  I might have to disagree on that one because with my children  ‘rewarding” has worked for me. I guess it all depends on the child.
