Harrise Aliance. ESC. School Disciplines
Right now, if a student fights in public school or causes any class disruption in class or around the school campus, that student will get arrested. The school authorities believe the best way to discipline students or to reduce school violence is for those students to get arrested. More and more students have had experimented going to jail for short time due to the misconduct. Schools are no longer suspending or giving suspension for misconduct or fighting in class. Some say the school is going too far by getting students arrested for misconduct. Getting students arrested cause more harm to students than good. As a result from students being jailed, more and more students are leaving emotionally starved and with records. Today we face a problem with students dropping out school at an earlier stage in life. Instead of adding to the numbers of students who are already dropout, I believe the school should focus on other ways to discipline students and encourage them to attend anger management class. I also believe sending students to jail for disturbing behavior will make them even more aggressive than behave.

I agree!! Usually when someone gets sent to jail one time they will continue to go back. Not because they want to but because they start to get immuned to it. This WILL cause more drop outs because if the school doesn’t accept them who will? This will discourage kids and cause them to do something else. I have a friend who was in this same situation and now he is ALWAYS in jail just because he went ONE time!!!

True. I think its a idiotic way to deal with something that’s been going on forever. If you take a student and in a year span has 5-6 jail stays that student will sympathize with jail. And jail will become a home away from home for some. Jail should inspire fear. People should be afraid to go there. Student will learn to associate jail with school. And worst case scenario they would get into fights on purpose just to be able to skip school.
