Babies Having Babies!!
It’s baby boomin’ time once again but this time it is not married couples, it’s young teens. Society today makes having babies seem like a good thing. In the past, having a child was a big responsibility but now really it is taken for a play thing. People use to be punished for having babies at an early age but now there are tv shows being made based on teens having babies. Usually, many people worry about the risk of having a baby but never really worried about catching a STD. It is sad because even though there are many ways to protect yourself from being pregnant or receiving a STD people overlook that and say “Oh it’ll never happen to me” but in all actuality it does. There are many factors that can even cause people to get pregnant. Some people think that having babies is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Some may be caused by the surroundings and what they are being exposed to. Watching shows like 16 and Pregnant and also Teen Moms lets people think that babies are okay. Although they are sweet and a blessing, there are many responsibilities that come with a baby. Even though parents teach their children not to have sex because they can get pregnant, society will tell them other wise. It can also be peer pressure that causes people to have sex, in result they get pregnant. Pregnancy is something that was meant to be for married people but its turning into a fashion statement. People now are having babies like it’s an accessory.

Sex and teens have always been a broad subject and so are the opinions about it. I beleieve people in general will do whatever they want to do no matter what. I’ve seen alot of cases where parents try to punish and hide their kids (mainly girls) from the world. Not letting them go out or have boyfrinds. Shoutting screamming at them all throughout their teen years. And it seens the more parents do that the worst their teens turn out to be.For example, A friend of mine (girl) catholic family really quiet shy girl never got in trouble till her parents started to prohibit her from going out with friends and having boyfriends etc…before she turned 14 the nice shy church goin girl had turned into a wild child. She had done all and more by the age of 16 and she told me it was because her parent never let her do it.She felt like she missed out on her teen years. So she found ways to sneak in boyfriends,alcohol,drugs, etc.. while her parent slept.

Teenage pregnancy is becoming a major problem in our society. I think parents should take more time to sexually educate their children. Parents will give better informations than anybody else. This world is moving too fast. I am confident if parents talk friendly with their children without fighting,they will listen. It’s the responsibility of parents to reduce the rate of teenage pregnancy.
