Big Brother, heed me - S Morash (Edison)
We’ve all heard the old saying about a wise man learning from others mistakes. Maybe ‘Big Brother’ should pay close attention to whats happening more and more frequently around the globe. Civil Unrest is a serious problem. It comes in all forms such as a simple boycott to the extremes of riots and civil war.
Greece is bankrupt, and what happened? Just what you’d imagine - a raise in taxes to support the belly up country and the cutting back of social services, and the funds for them. The result was almost typical. The 2008 riots started with the police opening fire, and subsequently killing, an innocent teenager. That alone is cause for an uprising. But there were so many underlining issues to these riots in Greece. Corruption scandals - mostly involving mishandling of public money, the spread of poverty, the increasing rate of unemployment amongst young graduates; just to name a few. Sounds vaguely familiar, yes?
Like Bernie Mac loved to say, “WAKE UP AMERICA!” We can put a check mark next to all those above reasons. If something doesn’t happen to “fix” us soon, we could see similar images soon - on our own streets! We have all these promises to fix our economy, stop this endless inflation, even secure our borders - when will they be fulfilled? Yes, nothing to “fix us” can be done overnight. It will be a long, uphill fight due to the interests of big business and the members on the tippy top of our society. But something to appease our uneasy, always on edge society needs to happen quickly. Otherwise, our civil unrest will boil over. And yeah, feel free to quote me on that.
