Kennara Reid (Edison) Obesity
It is said that obesity is a leading preventable cause of death with an increasing prevalence in adults and children. In my opinion the problem starts at home during the child hood years people exemplify what they are taught and how they were brought up. Now a day’s parents are too busy whether its work related or just desire to get some alone time. Leading to not preparing healthy meals, they want something Quick like “McDonalds” on top of that these kids aren’t even enrolled in any sports their “couch potatoes” what am I stabbing at? Parents who enroll their kids at an early age into sports, pageants etc boosts up their self esteem and confidence and they are more likely to be very outgoing and dominate in the future as well as raise their children similarly if not the same.

I agree that the problem of obesity can be lessened if parents cook healthy meals for themselves and their children instead of constantly eating out and if parents enroll their children in sports as well as working out themselves. When I was a kid, I used to ride my bike, rollerblade, jump rope, and just be active with other children in the neighborhood. Now, children are too consumed with playing video games, that they rarely go outside and get exercise. This is not healthy, and I think it is the parent’s job to make sure that their children are staying active.
