Tiffani Upchurch (FGCU): Food and Culture

The food in our society has been culturally influenced. We have the traditional “American” food like hot dogs and apple pie, but then we have included foods from all over the world into our diet. This has also been influenced by immigration. People from other countries immigrate to America and bring their different recipes along with them. This has had such a great impact that we have a “Little Italy” and a “China Town” in cities like New York. If you go to a mall today, you have many choices of food from Italian to Chinese to Asian foods. These foods have been accustomed to American life and will probably keep growing as time goes on.

i dont see why this is a social problem though? America is the Melting pot of the world, and from what i know that is okay. It was intended for freedom and free experssion. There is deinfalty still racism here and i think that would be the result of people who are not fond of the diversity. Alothough, from some research i have found that racism is slowly but surley decreasing.
