Alex Rhoades (FGCU): Whaling
Whaling is a terrible tragedy that has gone on for too long in Japan. Japanese people have been hunting these defenseless creatures for far too long, even driving them close to extinction. The whalers are sometimes protected from the authorities by claiming that they do it for science, but there cant be too much more scientific data that we can learn from dead whales that we couldn’t learn from whale fossils. Since whaling is illegal, the Japanese whalers should be taken to jail before all the whales in the world go extinct. Hunting of any endangered species should result to people being thrown in jail, whether its whales in Japan, or bald eagles in America.

Whaling is a huge social problem that sadly many people do not know about. The media has not payed in attention to this issue going on. The strong point you made was that whalers are sometimes protected from the authorities. That is just terrible, an injustice that should be brought to more attention.
