Ryan Hansen (FGCU): Wake up America! Part 1
Let me start off by saying America is great and has always been great. If you don’t believe that you should never talk about how you hate America and should move out of the country. Yes we have made some mistakes, but that’s just like any other country. We have toppled horrendous regimes like Germany’s in World War 1 and 2, Saddam Hussein’s, the Soviet Union, and most importantly Great Britain’s rule over us in the 1700s to name a few. We have become the most prosperous nation in the World’s history. We invented electricity, the telephone, the polio vaccine, the computer and internet, airplanes, and countless others. We became the freest nation in society ever. We are the most generous nation in the world, giving billions of dollars to assist nations of extreme poverty or ones that were hit by a disaster.
However our future is bleak. America is changing, but is changing for the worse. We are supposed to have a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Not the opposite of that, or one filled with lobbyists. Most of our politicians have become out of touch with the American people, caught up in “the beltway mentality,” and lie to us right in front of our faces. Just look at what former President Bush did, and even president Obama. Bush ran as a Conservative, but governed with a bigger government mindset, and Obama ran as a centrist but is governing as a liberal/progressive/socialist/Marxist. Our founding fathers knew that governments that become too big always fail. That’s why they created the Constitution. They wanted to tie down the government to prevent it from becoming unleashed. However, over the past 100 years the progressives have slowly been working out of those chains. They view the constitution as a roadblock in the way of what they think of as “progress.” Our founders created our constitution to be interpreted as is, not one that changes its meaning depending on the circumstances.
In these next parts I will talk about how life as we know it is under siege by an out of control Government. I will touch on how our history has been altered and buried by the progressives, the health care going on in congress, our economy, and a few other things. It is time for Americans to wake up and realize that America is rapidly changing. We still have time to get off this path and back on the ones that our great Founding fathers wanted us on.
