electronics and exams by Ryan Garrison

I was in the process of taking my first exam this morning and was having a very difficult time. so i looked up cracked my neck and noticed that someone was on their itouch looking up answers on google. i approached this person, who was my friend, after the test and they said they found almost all the answers on google. i was astonished to how he got away with that. granted it was only the one teacher in the room, you still have to not look at your itouch and do it by memorization. i find it crazy that someone would even think of that during a final exam at college. technology has come so far to where you can have the internet wherever you go whenever you want. this could be a problem in the future because i do not know what could be done to prevent this, or even if it can be prevented. i just think it is rediculous that someone would go as far as using the internet to cheat on a final exam. technology is ruining people in the every day life.

Many students are doing this now days. It’s only hurting the person that is doing this in the long run. Sure you can pass college cheating your way through, but when someone asks you a question in the real world or your given a written exam for a job with the boss sitting in front of you, you’re not going to be able to pull out your iPhone and look up the answer. A way this could be solved is to have the professors walk around during test, make sure they know people have nothing on their desk or in their laps.

technology is deffinitly becoming a harmful thing in society now. people are depending more and more on it. not only does it help people cheat in the most low and disgraceful ways in school but also during classes now, people are on their laptops surfing the net during a lecture instead of following the lesson. this effects students in many ways. it makes them lazy. i mean come on technology is becoming such a huge part of our lives think about how many screens you look at a day. technology is everywhere and its only advancing and we cant stop it. teachers are also depending on it soo much now. they require most assignments typed up instead of written. some students wont even recognize their handwriting anymore because its been so long since they have actually written anything down for class. even the notes and power point lesson is online so why would u need to take notes in class anymore. and as for technology in class. that should be forbidden from classrooms because it is definitely not fair that some students can cheat that easily and others spent hours studying. teachers need to be more strict and aware that they are not dealing with innocent students that would never do anything wrong.

Although I don’t necessarily agree that technology is a bad thing, there are situations such as this one that are. Todays population is becoming more and more dependent on technology for simple everyday things. Our cellphones and laptops have become a necesity that we cannot live without. Technology is becoming more and more accesible. It is becoming easier for people to cheat on tests, or buy essays online instead of writing them themselves. There really isn’t a way to stop this. Technology will continue to advance in the many centuries to come.
