Becky Broome (FGCU) Politics

Politics has always been such a heated subject. My favorite scandal in politics is why do politicians that are men tend to commit adultery. The most famous offense was in 1997 when President Bill Clinton allegedly had an affair with Monica Lewinsky. After this scandal got out most people turned their backs in disgust towards the president. Honestly what did they expect? It is in a mans nature to want to have sex. To a man the most efficient way to do this is make himself appealing to a lot of women. This produces a need for men to obtain power. The best way to gain power is to become  politician. So it is almost save to say that men become politicians so that they can have sex.

ok, number one. i dont think men become politicians just for sex. if so they must be very desperate because becoming a politician is not an easy thing to do. and as for Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, men will be men no matter what. America should now that by now and should have cut Bill a break. its not like he raped her. the only thing that was wrong about what he did was he cheated on his wife. Even past presidents have had affairs in the white house. look at JFK and marilyn monroe, no one said anything about that. i dont know why all of a sudden America decided to make it into such a big deal. but one thing i know is men dont just decide to become president of the united states to get the ladies. if so then that would mean america has definitely hit rock bottom.

Becky Broome (FGCU): I agree that men do not intentionally become politicians to have sex with women. I’m saying that due to the way society has shaped men they in return naturally want to have sex and reproduce. To do this they must appeal to women. One of the best ways to do this is to obtain positions of power and notoriety such as political positions. So, subconsciously men become politicians in order to have sex. As for Bill Clinton I was simply using him as an example. I was not attacking his character.
