Dominic Dijamco (FGCU): Homelessness

Homelessness is a worldwide problem. Hundreds of Thousands of people are homeless. I believe that the homeless are ostracized from society(especially midlle and upper class). Most of the homeless do not choose to live that way because they are lazy or do not want to get a job. They are usually in a hole they can’t get themselves out of. It is hard for an individual who does not have a home to fill out there home adress on a job application,or to fill out a phone number they can be reached at if they do not have a phone, or any academic or prior expiereience. How is a homeless person suppose to look presentable for an interview? All this plus more discourages homeless from attempting to seek employment.

I agree with the points you addressed in this blog. Another point that causes the homeless to not be able to get a job is transporation. It is very difficult for a homeless person to have the money to have transporation. Whatever money the do have/find will go to more important things such as food or clothing. So how is it expected for them to travel outside their living area to work at a certain job?
