I completely agree with both of you. Every generation has its own scare, whether it be the new millenium or even a war, or terrorist attack. Each culture or religious group has its own beliefs as to when the world will come to an end or even what year we are living in. As of right now, we do not have a definite answer as to when the world will come "crashing down", so why live in fear? Life is so unexpected, you'll never know when you're living your last day. Everyone should just enjoy their life to the fullest with their loved ones and not live in fear of a doomsday scenario, because in the end when it's your time to go, you will go.

Haha yeah I definitely agree it's just a scare, but it's really interesting to me how every generation has their own little scares like you said. Its like we as a society like to make our own little drama filled scenarios just so we can panic and then sigh of relief when nothing really happens. Very interesting, can't wait to hear more about this topic as the time gets nearer.

Every generation fears that it will be the last. There have been many of these doomsday scenarios, 2012 is just the most recent. There was Y2K, and the Jupiter Syndrome, plus the generational resurgence of Nostradamus every few years. Eventually one of these generations will be right, but will it be 2012? Unlikely. I wouldn't cancel any of my 2013 plans.
