English ONLY in America by Somebody35 (Edison)

Unite Statesis a country of diverse ethnicities, since the foundation of Unite States (I won’t call it America for reasons that I will explain later) our ancestors came from other countries looking for liberty, freedom of speech and freedom to do what wanted. So if you think of it, the only real “Americans” would be the Indians whose language wasn’t English. By the way, America is a continent; people born in Chile, Bolivia, and Mexico are also Americans.

What’s wrong with people speaking another language? Does it annoy you? I have friends who speak different languages and I don’t get annoyed whenever I heard them speaking in their first language. I don’t feel excluded or being gossiped about, it makes me want to learn their language for my own advantage so I ask them to teach me some of their language. I think that if people can communicate better and faster in the working place through another language, then we should allow it. If you ever work in another country, let’s say Japan, would you speak in Japanese to someone who is also from “America”? Wouldn’t it be just faster and easier to say it in your language than in the other language?

And if they only use their language to gossip about whatever then who cares? The only think that really annoys people is the fact that they feel insecure, people are always speaking badly about other people even in English, I know because I have been there. Also, why could it be that people are more likely to complain about people speaking in Spanish than in French, German, Korean, etc.?
