<description>I am sorry to hear about this. It must have taken a lot for you to write this. People don't necessarily understand who hard it is to watch someone die. Speaking as someone who has watched family members die, I would suggest and press for the person to start seeing a therapist. To watch someone die in such a painful way as cancer takes a huge emotional toll. Personally, I suffered from depression for years after and an eating disorder. It finally took me seeing professional help that allowed me to come to terms with what had happened.

Speaking on the note of suicide, there are so many reasons for someone to try to take their life. Although, I have never known anyone to actually take their own life, I can only imagine the pain that causes friends and family. In todays's world, people live such fast paced lives that they forget how many changes are happening to teenagers. Teenagers are not only going through hormonal changes, but are also dealing with adult issues although not considered adults. For you, I believe that although this was a terrible loss, you are better equipped to know what to watch for since you have seen someone that depressed. Although, it is not always possible to step in and help, you may be able to help the person have a good day. For someone that depressed, having a good day is a huge achievement. Thank you again for sharing and for the warning signs.
