Should the fact that one has or has not done something wrong matter when it comes to disease? Does one "deserve" to have a deadly disease based on their actions. Especially when their actions are no different than the vast majority of people who do the same thing without contracting the disease?

I think the problem is that some people do not know that they have HIV, so they unknowingly pass it on to their partners or children. There is such a big stigma against having HIV in our society, so many people are afraid to get tested or tell others that they have the disease. If a child is tested an found to have HIV, he or she may be alienated and ostracized by his or her classmates. There is a lot of ignorance about HIV/AIDS and how it is spread, so I do think it is a good idea to educate children and adults so they can be more informed and make choices accordingly.

I think you are right that people with AIDS should not have children. I once read an article about a group of people who do not believe that HIV causes AIDS. The article focused on one woman with HIV that had a child die of AIDS and still did not believe HIV was the cause. People can be really ignorant when it comes to things such as AIDS. It makes me mad that in society we see people with AIDS as promiscuous or promiscuous people as having AIDS when in reality it can happen to anyone and we all need to be careful.
