Why shouldn’t people of the same sex be allowed to consummate their loving, intimate relationship if they choose to do so?  Is it because that’s what we have been told it is wrong our whole life by our elders or is it because the bible says so?  What is the real underlying reason?  Well one reason that I heard (not from the media) lately was because of a tax break.  If the individuals of the same sex weren’t allowed to get married then the government would have that full taxable income, whereas if they are married they would get a tax break.  So my rebuttal to that was, well when the couple is old and collecting social security the government would only be liable to pay a full benefit to one person and half on the other.  Whereas if they aren’t married the government would pay a full benefit to both people.  Just like it is with heterosexual couples now.  Gay and lesbian couples aren’t asking for anything different then what heterosexual couples have; they just want equality.  You know like women wanted years ago, and what they (we) have now (well some would say almost have).  Most of what I hear people say about why same sex marriage (ssm) is wrong is that they are not into it and it is gross, or the bible says it is wrong.  Well the bible also says that we are all sinners so why are religious, secular, and political people making it complex, divisive, and not readily amenable to compromise.  It seems to me that they are picking and choosing what rules out of the bible that they are going to enforce when broken.  The bible also says that once a man divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman he commits adultery (Matthew 19:9).  But churches all over are marrying people for the 2nd and sometimes 3rd times.  Are these churches really taking the time to investigate the reasoning behind the divorce to see if they approve?  Well guess what it is not the churches job, or anyone elses job, to judge another person (Matthew 7:1-2).  It is God’s job to judge, it is the churches job to spread the word of the lord, and it is our job as human beings to decide on our own if we choose to follow the lords word.  And if we don’t then let that judgement be the Lords.  Let me put another though out there, what if the SSM couples aren’t religious then what is there to argue it?  Some people say it is unnatural because when couples get married they should be able to have a family.  Well no because there are heterosexual married couples out there that do not want kids or can not have kids.  No one in a SSM is getting hurt so why people choose to be against in is beyond me.  One other thing I would like to bring up is that SSM aren’t having a lot of kids naturally so a lot of them are adopting kids that are stuck in the systems throughout the world; saving them from having a horrible life.  I would think that is a good thing!  Currently most american adults are opposed so SSM, but the trend is increasing in acceptance.  If the current trends continue most american adults will be supportive of SSM sometime in the early to middle 2010’s.

Obesity is a major health issue when dealing with America people. Recent obesity studies done in American reported a dramatic rise in the number of people that are considered to be obese. This studies were done over a 20 year period. The percent of children who are considered to be obses double in the last 20 years. The percent of adolesents who are obses tripled. One out of every three adults in American is considered to be overweight. Statistics also pointed to approximately 50 percent of African Americans and Mexican Americans women are over weight. All this could be reversed with a little of exerices, calorie restriction, and help from love ones. This is a trend that would only get worst until we step up now and take charge of our life. This to me is a very heart filled issue because it touches home. Love ones run into all types of health issues when the heart is being over worked by extra fat and excess weight.
