lotus flower edison college “Restraining Special needs children” AUTISM

According to Autismspeaks.org there are more cases of autism than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and H.I.V. combined. Which leads to more Autistic children in our public school system, as well as signs that teachers and administrators are having trouble addressing their special needs and behavorial problems.Recent reports of teachers holding an autistic child face down with his hands behind his back. (he was in elementary school) Are there better ways to control a frustrated child who has special needs? I would say “yes”, rough handling of these children only leads to worse behavorial problems as a result of fear. They have the right to feel safe in any environment they are in as well as the other kids. Why not have special programs set up for them especially the ones who are functioning high enough to be in public schools. They should be in their own social groups, were they are not outcast and teachers are trained to care and deal with their needs.
