		<description>What's not clear is if it is the living together that causes these problems.  Remember, correlation is not causality.  Example, it's likely that people who cohabitate are more liberal and less religious, both characteristics lead to higher divorce rates.

Remember, too, divorce may not be a social problem, but may be a solution to the social problem of bad marriages.</description>
