Diane (Edison) Networking and Communicating

Everyone is well informed with the new devices, sites, and programs we use to communicate these days. With Myspace, Facebook, and the new off-spring Twitter, it is no wonder people are staying up to date and aware of everything. Just 10 years ago, you would not see someone walking down the street or in their car talking on a wireless cell phone, it was unheard of. Also, those who owned cell phones were important business or owners of companies. Rather, now we have 5 year old children who are proud owners of cell phones. Like stated by Professor Andoscia in class, during his time when he was growing up he would watch this super hero who would have a device similar to a cell phone, but without the many features we have today. But back then, it was very unheard of and hard to imagine that just about everyone would own one, today, in this day in time. With the up rising numbers of networking sites and the accounts of cell phones that are being established, it is no wonder that our networking and communication skills are improving every day. I think it is wonderful that I can stay in touch with people from elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and family members through these networking sites. Considering that I used to move a lot when I was younger due to my father’s career and having family out of state and out of the country; I could not imagine what it would have been like to not be able to communicate with them as much as I do now. I am very gratful to be able to have that resource in this age of time. Before people would have to go to libraries and look through books instead of just “googling” it and getting a answer within seconds. I was watching the show “Seinfeld” the other night, and it just made me think in awe how in that episode he was so excited and happy that he was able to recieve “call waiting and 3-way” calling. But to make the show interesting they had him accidently tell George something he wasn’t suppose to, while having the lady he was interested in on the phone as well, because he was assuming he was doing the call waiting option. Overall, we have come towards a age in time which communicating comes easy. People are able to meet new potential loved ones, or reunite with family members or friends, and find resources in a quick and easy manner. All in all, our new forms of communcating and networking is brillant, and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us later on down the road in technology.
