I completely agree with you. At first, I really liked it, because it was easy. Its foolproof! Im ashamed to admit but I have also "guessed" alot on the homework. But like you said, it does not help you better understand the concepts. It does however allow you to see examples of the problems,that are usually worked out step by step. The majority of the time when I don't know how to work out the problem, I tend to use an example. Because I know I will need to know how to do it for the quizzes and final. Mymathlab also allows you to retake the quizzes as many times as you want, and lets you review the quiz when your done so you know which questions you missed. It almost seems like nowadays professors are dare I say lazy? Mymathlab is convenient,there's no homework to grade. All they have to do is teach the lesson. But then is it even neccesary for students to come to class if they can get all their information online? This program allows any old joe pass a class they might not even come to, or have learned anything from! I know it might sound elementary but I would prefer to do bookwork and have to work out the problems by myself. Working out numerous problems and examples in class would also be helpful.
