Seriously Dillon, you need to do more research. Admittedly, we need to get more people involved in the election process who are intelligent, thus the remained need for the electoral college. These educated people who know what is going on make the decision, it doesn’t matter why people voted; their votes really don’t matter in the long run.
The bill that you refer to, Dillon, that allowed the deregulation of the financial industry was created, in part, by John McCain. Yes, Clinton should have voted it down, but it is difficult to tell whether or not the veto would have have been overturned in the republican controlled congress. Besides, he had enough on his plate dealing with China’s posturing in the late 90’s.
And no, we did not support the Taliban. We supported the mujaheddin that sprung up in opposition to Soviet encroachment. After we assisted in driving out the Soviets, we paid no attention to the country, instead looking at other containment policies. The void in power allowed them to take over, not the support of the United States.
Seriously Dillon, you accuse others of not knowing their facts. Learn them yourself.

Watch out for each other? if you have examples on how “we watch out for each other” please do share. Because CEO’s of banks, mainly, are KILLING us. And yes, you’re right it is BOTH democratic and republicans that have screwed up our nation. But it was a democrat who put us in this Economy. The housing Market crashed simply because Bill Clinton issued a bill that made it legal for banks to hand out housing loans to ANYONE regardless if they could pay it back.

When they couldn’t pay it back, they took their house, and soon it collapsed during George W. Bush’s campaign.

Hell, we’re still DEBATING if segregation is still around. Look around, tell me, is there racism? Yes there is. “I voted for Obama because we need a black man in office”

You have to be kidding me? That’s their only reason. And I know you know at least ONE person who knows this.

Its already been done, OBAMA lied to America about several things. Look around.

The MARSHAL LAW of ALABAMA by THE UNITED STATES ARMY.. not the National Guard.. THE ARMY only deployable by the president himself, showed up to “PROTECT” and “CURFEW” a small town of Alabama without the request from the Governor. So now he’s going behind the smaller powers’ backs?

Castro did the same exact thing back in 2001, where he told his staff “say what you want, for you will not be punished”

as soon as they were open, he had them and their FAMILIES killed.

Scary thing is, Obama is NOW making yet another bill that will make your “freedom of speech” limited against the government.

Before you bash all of our politicians, please get more facts.

I agree with Cynthia completely, and Andoscia, but by saying “well it’s ok because everyone else did it” is bull.

The history of Cuba is a little confused. Actually, before Castro Cuba was ruled by a brutal dictator named Batista who was a friend of the United States, opening up Cuba’s markets to anyone willing to pay for access–including the Mafia. Yes, Cuba was a great place if you happened to be in the upper classes, but there were tremendous discrepancies of wealth. These discrepancies are what fueled Castro’s take-over and popularity.

That’s not to say that Castro is a wonderful leader, but the characterize Cuba as being a wonderful place before Castro is inaccurate. Many of the people who came to America after Castro’s takeover had the good-life before Castro came along. For them, life was good, but that was not the reality for most Cubans.

This country has not seen a president that it “needs” since the election of John F. Kennedy, and that’s debatable. The one thing that I can say for certain is the self-centered and self-gratifying “get all you can and can all you get” mentality of our presidents, both republican and democrat, over the past 30 years has brought our great country virtually to its knees, and has lead us to the brink of destruction. We were once a country where we looked out for one another. Now we are a country where we watch out for one another.

I see what you mean, but I labeled it as Hitler simply because of the mandatory volunteer service like he did with Hitler’s Youth.

But it’s a scary thought to think of. He has talked about some socialist ideas, and also displays facist ideas. We placed the Taliban in the position they’re in, and we did this to stop the soviet union back during the Cold War.
Same reason why we entered the Vietnam War, to avoid communist control of Vietnam.

After all of that, why would we begin to display such characteristics? I’m gonna agree with you and say, he’s not what we need, and soon everyone else will see it for themselves.
