Noah Cullen (FGCU) American Drug-o-Phobia
19. March 2009 by student.
In a country that’s on the cutting edge of medical and pharmaceutical research, particularly with psychoactive substances for the treatment of various mental problems ranging from depression to ADHD, I’m surprised at the heated and clearly irrational aversion the general population has to “recreational drugs”, even considering these “street drugs” often come with less negative side-effects than the half-dozen “legitimate” pharmaceuticals most middle-aged Americans are continually strung-out on.
Okay maybe I’m not that surprised, it’s actually not that hard to trick a few million mouthbreathing, religious, middle-class suburbanite idiots into believing LSD will turn unsuspecting youths into hardened criminals; I have a “Reefer Madness” poster in my room that continually reminds me how easily the average law-abiding citizen’s mind can be molded by the criminally brilliant bourgeoisie in the government/big business complex.
Has anyone actually thought about who exactly is in charge of making drugs illegal? It’s only natural to assume that a panel of qualified experts following strict guidelines and procedures would be in charge of such a difficult and important task, I mean after all this is America, I mean it’s not like we’d leave lawmaking up to a bunch of unqualified old men operating on arbitrary and dogmatic criteria established by religious and cultural traditions from centuries ago…right?
The reality is, that is exactly the case. Drugs aren’t scheduled by a panel of neuroscientists or psychiatrists or physicians, their legality is determined by bureaucrats; aging and often borderline senile desk-jockeys with absolutely no qualification to be determining the danger of chemical compounds. For fuck’s sake Cannabis is scheduled as being more dangerous than PCP, Meth, or Cocaine in the current system. Based on this I have come to the conclusion that a lobotomy is a prerequisite to DEA employment.
All I’m saying is: do lots of drugs. Of course I’m not suggesting you do anything illegal, but I actually am, you need to consume more illegal drugs. The real experts (Those neuroscientists and psychiatrists) are on our side: Cannabis, LSD, Psilocybin (Mushrooms), DMT, MDMA (Ecstacy), Ketamine, and yeah even PCP, when taken responsibly in the proper doses (Like any medication) are no more harmful to your body or brain than OTC pain meds. Our ability to manipulate the chemical composition and operation of our own minds–likely the most complex structures we know of–is an amazing achievement and a crucial step in continuing human evolution.
I can’t emphasize this enough: Recreational drugs are not illegal because they are bad for you. Some of them might be bad for you–but let’s be honest–considering the kind of shit the FDA approves for consumer use, the government really doesn’t care too much about your health. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is responsible for 450 deaths annually, Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) in its entire history of recreational use (over half a century) has killed–you ready for this?–noone. That’s right, not one person in the history of forever has ever died from taking acid.
The government doesn’t want its constituents on psychoactives because people who are high think, and it’s hard to maintain an army of mindless paper-pushers when they’ve got the silly idea in their head that maybe there’s more to life than working a 9-5 job. Alcohol, tobacco, and pharmaceutical companies obviously don’t want people getting high on anything but their products (Partnership For a Drug-Free America, which runs anti-drug campaigns in the U.S., acquires most of it’s multi-million dollar funding from major alcohol, tobacco, and pharmaceutical
companies). And religion abhors the idea of people deriving pleasure from anything but Jesus…okay scratch that, religion just abhors the idea of people deriving pleasure period.
Just take a step back and laugh. We have no problem popping a pill that could blow up our fucking heart to fix a limp dick, but we’ll ruin someone’s life over plant-derived entheogens having side effects no more serious than nausea.

Dillon Sparks (FGCU): Is Obama Hitler in Disguise?
19. March 2009 by student.
There has been a recent Bill that has JUST passed congress.
Here are the specifics of the Bill (found ON HIS WEBSITE):
~College Students MUST complete 100 EXTRA community service hours (benefitting the military i.e Peace Corp) EVERY YEAR
~Middle School and High School students will have to do an extra 50 hours per year.
~ College students, ages 18-25, will be placed in “MANDATORY VOLUNTEER UNITS” and will recieve 3 MONTHS of MILITARY TRAINING.
THIS IS A DRAFT PEOPLE… WAKE UP!!!
it’s just DISGUISED.
I know some kids who are blind are going to comment this, so let me explain myself. I am ALREADY joining the airforce after my college career, but why do I care? Because I am an american, and as an AMERICAN it is my RIGHT to join the military. If someone doesn’t want to join the military, DONT FORCE THEM.
“I’ll flee the country”
“I’ll move to canada”
HOW ABOUT NEXT TIME, YOU SHUT UP, LISTEN, AND PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT’S GOING ON.
IT HAS JUST PASSED THE HOUSE… AND NEXT IS THE ‘DEMOCRATIC’ SENATE
Check out Obama’s own website, (where he lists this particular program under a military ‘defense’ link), where he says the civilian national security force would ‘deploy alongside the military, if needed.” Those are his words, not mine.
And, don’t forget Obama’s words: “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objective that we’ve set. We’ve gotta have a “Civilian National Security Force” that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”
Another Obama quote: “If one of us goes to war, we all go.”
If you want to see this subject more clearly, I’d suggest you pick up Rahm Emanuel’s book, “The Plan: Big Ideas for America.” In it, he provides a more detailed look at what this policy will be like when he says:
“It’s time for a real Patriot Act that brings out the patriot in all of us. We propose universal [mandatory] civilian service for every young American. Under this plan, All Americans between the ages of eighteen and twenty five will be asked to serve their country by going through three months of basic training, civil defense preparation and community service.”
There are already thousands of non-profit organizations, private foundations, and church-based charity groups that are helping communities across America. Why not increase volunteerism in those groups? After all, they’re already functioning and actively seeking volunteers. I’ll tell you why not, because this is not about volunteering, this is not about skipping happily through the forest helping the poor. This plan is a military draft, disguised as a fluffy, happy, ‘have to help each other’ Koombaya song.
Wake up America.
Dillon
