I am a white female, 21 years old and a native to south Florida. I grew up in a totally different generation than when racism was prominent. But I will tell you this living in the south, there is still racism and it's not only in the south but everywhere it's just illegal now. I mean if you really think about it; every since the discrimination began against another race it's stuck within generations. It's a belief that a parent has about something and it's taught to their children subtly just as fairness and respect is taught and passed down. Don't get me wrong I don't believe in racism I am NOT racist! I love all humans and all living things. Please don't get me wrong.

I hope that these types of beliefs are phased out over time, it's happening now but it does need to speed up. I don't understand why someone would have so much hatred against someone that is the same and equal to themselves but the only difference is their skin. Honestly what does that have anything to do with, the only reason there are still people out there that are racist is because the older generations are teaching and preserving that hatred. I can only think of a few ways to eliminate this type of hatred or any hatred for that matter. That is to teach not preach but teach your own children and their friends that it's not ok and don't tolerate the abuse from someone who believes that there is an equality difference between one race and the next. It's rediculous! I will be honest my neighborhood where my parents live is all caucasion. There is a reason that it's been this way and is kept this way. The majority prefers not to associate themselves with other races and naturally the neighborhood has grown on that platform. The neighborhood has been this way for 30 years. This issue doesn't seem to be going away any time soon but it is slowly disapating... I just hope it keeps going in that direction.
